In recent years, EYJS has developed the Edmonton International Judo Championship tournament, a major, full spectrum tournament. This event includes age groups from Cadets through Masters, and is held at West Edmonton Mall, North America’s largest shopping mall, in the spring of each year.
Edmonton Yudanshakai Judo Society
Founded in 1982 by Edmonton judokas, Wally Litousky and Kathie Okamura. The Edmonton Yudanshakai Judo Society (EYJS) was formed as a non-profit organization to provide judo tournament opportunities in the Edmonton area, train volunteers in time-keeping, draw sheets and all the other tasks required to run a shiai (tournament).
